''Meet David Sedaris'' is a BBC Radio 4 radio program featuring American humorist David Sedaris reading new and previously collected stories live before an audience. There have been nine series with the first being broadcast in April 2010. Each episode runs for thirty minutes with some episodes featuring questions taken from the audience or diary extracts to fill in the time. Series 8 was recorded at Sedaris's home in Rackham Rackham (later, Rackham Entertainment) was a French miniature and role-playing games production company founded in 1997 by Jean Bey, CEO and Creative Director. David Sedaris
David Raymond Sedaris (; born December 26, 1956) is an American humorist, comedian, author, and radio contributor. He was publicly recognized in 1992 when National Public Radio broadcast his essay " Santaland Diaries.” He published his first collection of essays and short stories, '' Barrel Fever'', in 1994. His next book, ''Naked'' (1997), became his first of a series of ''New York Times'' Bestsellers, and his 2000 collection '' Me Talk Pretty One Day'' won the Thurber Prize for American Humor. Much of Sedaris's humor is ostensibly autobiographical and self-deprecating and often concerns his family life, his middle-class upbringing in the suburbs of Raleigh, North Carolina, his Greek heritage, homosexuality, jobs, education, drug use, and obsessive behaviors, as well as his life in France, London, New York, and the South Downs in England. Stereophonic sound, or more commonly stereo, is a method of sound reproduction that recreates a multi-directional, 3-dimensional audible perspective. This is usually achieved by using two independent audio channels through a configuration of two loudspeakers (or stereo headphones) in such a way as to create the impression of sound heard from various directions, as in natural hearing. Because the multi-dimensional perspective is the crucial aspect, the term ''stereophonic'' also applies to systems with more than two channels or speakers such as quadraphonic and surround sound. Parham, West Sussex
Parham is a civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. There was a village of Parham, around the parish church, but its few houses were destroyed in the early 19th century to create the landscaped park and gardens. The parish now consists of Parham Park and the farms and smaller settlements around it. The village is between Wiggonholt and Cootham, about south of Pulborough on the A283 road. The parish covers . BBC Radio 4 Extra (formerly BBC Radio 7) is a British digital radio station from the BBC, broadcasting archived repeats of comedy, drama and documentary programmes nationally, 24 hours a day. It is the sister station of BBC Radio 4 and the principal broadcaster of the BBC's spoken-word archive, and as a result the majority of its programming originates from that archive. It also broadcasts extended and companion programmes to those broadcast on Radio 4, and provides a "catch-up" service for certain programmes.
