Media Technology Monitor
The Media Technology Monitor (MTM) is a research product designed to monitor use and adoption of new and existing technologies by Canadians. The first MTM 18+ questionnaire which focuses on Canadian adults was distributed in 2005 and now consists of two annual telephone and web surveys conducted in the spring and fall of each year. MTM 18+ survey Canadians from all Provinces and Territories of Canada. The MTM is designed, implemented and analyzed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC/Radio-Canada). In 2019, the MTM started an annual survey MMT JR of Canadians aged 2 to 17. The MTM JR focuses on how young Canadians consume and use media. In Spring 2021, MTM introduced a new research product - MTM Newcomers. MTM Newcomers focuses on the growing demographic of those who have migrated to Canada within the past 5 years. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (french: Société Radio-Canada), branded as CBC/Radio-Canada, is a Canadian public broadcaster for both radio and television. It is a federal Crown corporation that receives funding from the government. The English- and French-language service units of the corporation are commonly known as CBC and Radio-Canada, respectively. Random Digit Dialing
Random digit dialing (RDD) is a method for selecting people for involvement in telephone statistical surveys by generating telephone numbers at random. Random digit dialing has the advantage that it includes unlisted numbers that would be missed if the numbers were selected from a phone book. In populations where there is a high telephone-ownership rate, it can be a cost efficient way to get complete coverage of a geographic area. RDD is widely used for statistical surveys, including election opinion polling and selection of experimental control groups. When the desired coverage area matches up closely enough with country codes and area codes, random digits can be chosen within the desired area codes. In cases where the desired region doesn't match area codes (for instance, electoral districts), surveys must rely on telephone databases, and must rely on self-reported address information for unlisted numbers.
