Media Go
Media Go is a discontinued free multimedia management application that runs on Microsoft Windows, developed by Sony Entertainment Network. Media Go manages content on Sony family products including Sony Mobile phones, the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Walkman, and Sony Tablet. Media Go can organize, play, and transfer a wide variety of content including videos, photos, music, and podcasts; it also had a storefront from PlayStation Network and mora allowing users to purchase media content. Sony announced the discontinuation of the software by December 2017; it was replaced by Music Center for PC which only works with audio products like Walkman. PlayNow was Sony Ericsson's download service for media that included music, games, ringtones, wallpapers and themes. It was introduced in February 2004 as a way for owners of SE phones to listen to and directly purchase ringtones. It was rolled out into 32 countries. The Sony Ericsson S700 was the first Sony Ericsson phone to come pre-loaded with PlayNow. PlayNow was expanded in mid-2008 into the browser-based portal, PlayNow arena. This first went live in the Nordic countries in August 2008 and offered additional types of free and premium content, including 1 million DRM-free tracks from record companies such as Sony Music, Warner Music, and EMI. Xperia () is the brand name of smartphones and tablets from Sony. The name Xperia is derived from the word "experience", and was first used in the Xperia X1 tagline of "I Xperia the best". SensMe
SensMe is a proprietary music mood and tempo detection system created by Sony Corporation, and employed in numerous Sony branded products, including in some Walkman digital music players, the Media Go application, the PlayStation Portable, and Sony Ericsson and Sony Xperia handsets. It is named Omakase Channel (おまかせチャンネルを使う) in Japan. The function also appears as 12 Tone Analysis released with the VAIO Music Box software, for compatible Vaio notebooks. Method SensMe works by using a twelve tone analysis of all the user's music individually, computing track information based on the mood and tempo of the tracks, and then outputting them for the user to play these automatically generated playlists. Media Manager for PSP is a commercial application from Sony Creative Software that managed content on the PlayStation Portable (PSP), serving a similar function to that of iTunes for a personal computer. Media Manager is able to automatically convert and copy certain types of content (such as music & photos) to a PlayStation Portable, as well as download and copy video podcasts to the device; music could be downloaded from the Sony Connect Internet-based music store, in countries where this service was offered and from version 3.x onwards, the PlayStation Store was integrated directly into the software. The Sony Ericsson W995 is a candybar slider model music phone designed by Sony Ericsson as the new Walkman flagship phone, previously known as codename "Hikaru". The W995 was introduced February 2009 and released on 4 June 2009 and uses the 4th version of the 'Walkman Player'. It is also the first Walkman phone to feature a standard 3.5 mm headset jack rather than requiring a FastPort connection. It features an 8.1-megapixel camera which seems similar to the C905. Music Center for PC is a music player and transfer software for Microsoft Windows, developed by Sony and first released in 2017. Overview The software was created to replace Media Go and x-APPLICATION (Japanese: x-アプリ). Unlike those, Music Center for PC only focuses on audio and as a result it has had several features removed, such as CD burning, or non-audio media functionalities like photo or video playback and transfer.
