Medea Chakhava
Medea Chakhava ( ka, მედეა ჩახავა) (May 15, 1921 – September 7, 2009) was a Georgian theater and film actress. Career Chakhava was born on May 15, 1921, in Martvili, Georgia. Her father, Vasil Chakhava, was a renowned Georgian doctor. Medea Chakhava embarked on her theatrical journey at the Rustaveli Theatre in 1941 and made her film debut in 1942. Rustaveli Theatre
Rustaveli National Theatre ( ka, შოთა რუსთაველის სახელობის აკადემიური თეატრი ) is the largest and one of the oldest theaters of Georgia, located in its capital Tbilisi on Rustaveli Avenue. Housed in an ornate Rococo-style edifice, the theatre was founded in 1887 and since 1921 has carried the name of Georgia's national poet Rustaveli. Upon request of the Artists' Society, several celebrated artists were commissioned to paint frescoes on the walls and ceilings of the basement. Rustavi 2 ( ka, რუსთავი 2, tr, "Rustavi ori") is a Georgian free-to-air television channel based in Tbilisi, that was founded in 1994 in the town of Rustavi (hence its name). It is an associate member of the European Broadcasting Union. Its news service has bureaus and regional reporters in major Georgian cities (Kutaisi, Batumi, Gori, Poti, Zugdidi), as well as the permanent correspondents in Washington D.C., Brussels and Moscow. Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University (TAFU) is one of the oldest universities in the Caucasus and Georgia.
