Mecca2Medina
Mecca2Medina are a British Islamic hip hop Nasheed group. History The group was founded in 1996 and produced their first EP, entitled ''Life after death'', the same year. Since then they have released three nasheed albums, two hip-hop albums, and one mix CD. They make music for both Muslims and non-Muslims. Rakin Fetuga created Mecca2Medina after leaving his previous rap group, Cash Crew in 1995. Goal The group aims to make music which expresses their Islamic views and they also comment on social issues related to 'ghetto life'. They rap over a music style which uses African drum rhythms aimed at conservative Islamic audiences, and soulful rhythms and electronic beats for hip-hop fans. The first members to join Fetuga were Ismael Lea South and Imran Kazi. later Doaud Saifallah and Abdul Kareem Talib joined. Ismael Lea South
Lea South (born 28 May 1973), better known as Ismael Lea South, is an English rapping, rapper, Activist, community activist and youth worker of British Jamaican, Jamaican descent. Early life South was in Willesden, London, England. Both his parents are from Jamaica, his father came to the United Kingdom in the late 1950s and his mother in the early 1960s. He was brought up as a Christian. South attended Queens Park Community School, South Kilburn High School and studied marketing at London College of Communication. He started writing lyrics at school. He later joined an underground group Strictly Business with Gee and Mic Check One. They were later signed by an underground recording label. He converted to Islam in this process and left due to artistic content disagreements. Rakin Fetuga
Rakin Misbah Adetola Fetuga (born 21 January 1971) is an English rapper and music producer of Nigerian descent. Early life Fetuga was born in Ladbroke Grove, London, England. His parents, both Nigerian, came to the United Kingdom in the 1960s to further their education. His Muslim father was an accountant, whilst his mother was a Christian working for the London Transport. When Fetuga was a teenager his parents separated, and in his mother's care he was brought up as a Christian. Through his early life, he has been Catholic, Jehovah's Witness and Methodist. Career In 1985, Fetuga and his childhood friends formed Cash Crew, he left Holland Park School before his A-levels when they were signed to Virgin Records and BMG France. Ashley Anthony Chin (born 21 August 1982), also known by his stage name Muslim Belal, is an English actor, screenwriter, spoken word poet and rapper of Jamaican descent. He began his acting career in the 1999 BBC film ''Storm Damage'' and his music career in 2005. He has acted in a number of stage productions including ''Gone Too Far!'' (2007). Chin came to prominence as a supporting role in the films ''Sket'' (2011) and ''Anuvahood'' (2011). Dirty Kuffar
Dirty Kuffar (''Kuffar'' is Arabic for "nonbelievers") is an Islamic extremist 2004 Jihad Islamist extremist rap video produced by Muslim British rappers Sheikh Terra and the Soul Salah Crew, or, as the video says, featuring the Soul Salah Crew. The music video begins with a CNN video clip showing US troops shooting an Iraqi individual and then rejoicing, the clip is then followed by the logo, "Digihad", playing on the terms Digital and Jihad. The beat of Dirty Kuffar is taken from the popular Lumidee song "Never Leave You-Uh Oh." The soldier being interviewed at the beginning of the video is allegedly called Riddle and was interviewed by CNN. The 'Digihad' logo has been spoofingly taken from the racist and White supremacist British Combat 18 website logo, only that the Swastika has been removed. Fun-Da-Mental is a British-based multi-ethnic hip-hop– ethno-techno– world fusion music group formed in 1991. Islam in England is the second largest religion after Christianity.
