Meadows Mall
Meadows Mall is a shopping mall in Las Vegas, Nevada on . It is a two-story enclosed mall with 945,000 ft² of space. It has 122 stores and 4 anchor tenants: Curacao, a Dillard's clearance outlet, JCPenney, and Macy's. The mall is surrounded by nearly 4,600 surface parking spaces. Meadows Mall was proposed in 1973, but the start of construction was delayed several years by the city, which objected to its location. The mall was developed by Dayton-Hudson Corporation and built by Ernest W. Hahn Inc. It opened on August 5, 1978, as the city's second major indoor shopping center, joining The Boulevard Mall. The Broadway
The Broadway was a mid-level department store chain headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1896 by English-born Arthur Letts Sr., and named after what was once the city's main shopping street, the Broadway became a dominant retailer in Southern California and the Southwest. Its fortunes eventually declined, and Federated Department Stores (now Macy's, Inc.) bought the chain in 1995. In 1996, Broadway stores were either closed or converted into Macy's and Bloomingdales. Diamond's was a department store chain headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally named The Boston Store, it was founded in 1897 by Nathan and Issac Diamond, Jewish immigrants who had earlier begun a dry-goods mercantile in El Paso, it was renamed Diamond's in 1947 in honor of the store's 50th anniversary. In the United States, a SWAT team (special weapons and tactics, originally special weapons assault team) is a police tactical unit that uses specialized or military equipment and tactics. Although they were first created in the 1960s to handle riot control or violent confrontations with criminals, the number and usage of SWAT teams increased in the 1980s and 1990s during the War on Drugs and later in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
