''Me and the Boys'' is the thirteenth studio album by Charlie Daniels and the tenth as the Charlie Daniels Band released in 1985. The album contains three cover songs. "Me and the Boys" was previously released earlier in 1985 as a Canadian single by the songwriter, Matt Minglewood, for his subsequent album of the same name. "Still Hurtin' Me" is a cover of Brian Cadd's June 1985 Australian single of the same name from his album, ''No Stone Unturned''. Charles Edward Daniels (October 28, 1936 – July 6, 2020) was an American singer, musician, and songwriter. His music fused rock, country, blues and jazz, pioneering Southern rock. He was best known for his number-one country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Much of his output, including all but one of his eight ''Billboard'' Hot 100 charting singles, was credited to the Charlie Daniels Band. Daniels was active as a singer and musician from the 1950s until his death. John Boylan (record Producer)
John Patrick Boylan II (born March 21, 1941) is an American record producer and songwriter. Career Boylan grew up in Buffalo, New York. Upon graduating from Bard College, he and his brother Terence Boylan worked with music publisher Charles Koppelman in Tin Pan Alley before moving to Los Angeles in the late 1960s. There they recorded an album as the Appletree Theatre. Matt Minglewood
Matt Minglewood (born Roy Alexander Batherson, January 31, 1947) is a Canadian musician whose style can be described as a blend of country, blues, folk, roots and rock. The name "Matt" was borrowed from his brother, Matt Batherson. Career Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Minglewood later relocated to North Sydney, Nova Scotia with his family. He later moved to nearby Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where he resides to the present day. His nephew Norm Batherson played hockey professionally, and his grand-nephew Drake Batherson is currently a right winger for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. Brian George Cadd AM (born 29 November 1946) is an Australian singer-songwriter, keyboardist, producer and record label founder, a staple of Australian entertainment for over 50 years. As well as working internationally throughout Europe and the United States, he has performed as a member of numerous bands including the Groop, Axiom, the Bootleg Family Band and in America with Flying Burrito Brothers before carving out a solo career in 1972. He briefly went under the pseudonym of Brian Caine in late 1966, when first joining the Groop. Donald Hugh Henley (born July 22, 1947) is an American musician and a founding member of the rock band Eagles. He is the drummer and one of the lead singers for the Eagles. ''I Can't Stand Still'' is the debut solo studio album by American musician Don Henley, drummer and co-lead vocalist for the Eagles. It was released in August 1982 by Asylum Records. Henley, Danny Kortchmar and Greg Ladanyi produced the album. ''I Can't Stand Still'' achieved gold status, and peaked at No. 24 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and at the same position on the UK Albums Chart. Three singles were released from the album, including the hit " Dirty Laundry", which peaked at No. 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and became Henley's best-selling single. William Joel "Taz" DiGregorio (January 8, 1944 – October 12, 2011) was a longtime member and keyboardist for the Charlie Daniels Band. He was born and lived in Southbridge, Massachusetts, until 1962 when he went on the road. He was self-taught on the keyboards, practicing from tunes by Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, and Little Richard following his attendance at a Ray Charles concert. Musical career He learned the Fats Domino song " Blue Monday" at the age of sixteen. Once, he just started playing and singing the entire song and his sister asked him "How did you do that?" and he replied "I don't know" and that kickstarted his career. He once played with a band at The Golden Nugget in Worcester, Massachusetts and played with Fay Adams & The Drifters.
