Md. Rais Uddin
Md. Rais Uddin is a judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Uddin was born on 30 July 1956. Career After Uddin competed his law degree he joined the district court as a lawyer on 22 August 1981. On 3 November 1983, Uddin became a lawyer of the High Court Division. On 23 August 2004, Uddin was appointed an additional judge of the High Court Division. He was made a permanent judge of the division on 23 August 2006. Uddin was one of 19 judges who opposed a High Court order in July 2008 that called on the government to reinstate 10 judges of the high court whose appointment was not confirmed by Bangladesh Nationalist Party government. In October 2008, Uddin and Justice Sheikh Rezowan Ali issued an order asking the government to not harass former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. The High Court Division exercises both original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters. Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir
Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir (born 1 March 1942) is a Bangladeshi politician. He is a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Chandpur-1 constituency since 2008, and was Minister of Home Affairs from 2011 to 2013. He is also an economist, civil servant, and writer in Bangladesh. Alamgir taught at the university until 1965. Joining the civil service that year, he served in numerous positions, for a total of 32 years. He held several positions with the Finance Ministry, in addition to regional posts. Beginning in the late 1990s, he was appointed to political positions when the Awami League was in power. He was detained without charges and tortured during 2002.
