McQuillan GAC Ballycastle
McQuillan GAC Ballycastle (Irish: ''MacUílín CLG Baile an Chaisleáin'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Ballycastle in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Antrim county board. The club participates in both hurling and Gaelic football but is known primarily for its hurling successes. They play their home matches at Páirc MacUílín which has also hosted the Antrim Senior Hurlers in recent years due to the ongoing redevelopment of Casement Park. The Club is sponsored by Parker Transport a local business in the town. History The club was founded in 1907. Brian Donnelly (hurler)
Brian Donnelly (born 1961) was a Northern Irish hurler who played as a full-forward for the Antrim senior team. Donnelly made his first appearance for the team during the 1978-79 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for over a decade. Dessie Donnelly (born 1959 in Ballycastle, County Antrim) is a former Irish sportsman. He played hurling with his local club McQuillan Ballycastle and was a member of the Antrim senior inter-county team in the 1980s and 1990s. Donnelly played in the Antrim side that reached the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final in 1989, losing out to Tipperary GAA by 4-24 to 3-9 at Croke Park. Cormac Donnelly (born 1989) is an Irish hurling coach and former player as a full-back at senior level for the Antrim county team. Donnelly made his first appearance for the team during the 2008 championship and has become a regular player over the last few seasons. The Ulster Senior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster GAA, Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion hurling teams in the province of Ulster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious club competition in Ulster hurling. Ballycastle () is a small seaside town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is on the northeasternmost coastal tip of Ireland, in the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county club hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year since the 1970-71 championship (except for 2020-2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). This is a list of all the past winners of the official GAA GPA All Stars Awards in hurling since the first awards in 1971. As an insight to the prominent players of the 1960s, it also includes the unofficial "Cuchulainn" awards presented from 1963 to 1967 under the auspices of ''Gaelic Weekly'' magazine. Since 1971, the All Ordinaries Awards in hurling have been presented annually to a set of fifteen hurlers from that year's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, who are seen to be deserving of being named in a "Team of the Year".
