Ammon McNeely (June 3, 1970 – February 18, 2023) was an American rock climber, who holds the most Speed Climbing World Records and First One Day Ascents on El Capitan in Yosemite. His other interests included; BASE jumping, wingsuiting, skydiving, surfing, skateboarding, trail running, mountain biking and snowboarding. Ammon was also a slackliner and pioneered many highlines throughout the US and had opened up new BASE jumps, as well. Cecil James "Big Jay" McNeely (April 29, 1927 – September 16, 2018) was an American rhythm and blues saxophonist. Biography Inspired by Illinois Jacquet and Lester Young, McNeely teamed with his older brother Robert McNeely, who played baritone saxophone, and made his first recordings with drummer Johnny Otis, who ran the Barrelhouse Club that stood only a few blocks from McNeely's home. Shortly after he performed on Otis's "Barrel House Stomp." Ralph Bass, A&R man for Savoy Records, promptly signed him to a recording contract. Bass's boss, Herman Lubinsky, suggested the stage name Big Jay McNeely because Cecil McNeely did not sound commercial. McNeely's first hit was "The Deacon's Hop," an instrumental which topped the ''Billboard'' R&B chart in early 1949. George Earl McNeely (May 12, 1898 – July 16, 1971) was an American professional baseball outfielder and coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns. McNeely threw and batted right-handed, and was listed as tall and . He was a lifelong resident of Sacramento, California. In an eight-year major-league career, he compiled a .272 batting average (614-2254) with 369 runs, 4 home runs and 213 RBIs in 683 games played. His on-base percentage was .335 and slugging percentage was .354. Jeffrey Lavern McNeely (born October 18, 1969) is a former center fielder/designated hitter in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox during the 1993 season. Listed at 6' 2", 190 lb., McNeely batted and threw right-handed. He attended Spartanburg Methodist College. Jim McNeely (born May 18, 1949) is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and faculty. Biography Jim McNeely was born in Chicago, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois, and moved to New York City in 1975. In 1978, he joined the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band. He spent six years as a featured soloist with that band and its successor, Mel Lewis and the Jazz Orchestra (now the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra). In 1981, he began a four-year tenure as pianist/composer with the Stan Getz Quartet. From 1990 until 1995, he was the pianist in the Phil Woods Quintet. In 1996, he re-joined the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra as pianist. He is still associated with the Vanguard Orchestra as composer-in-residence. Kyle McNeely is an American retired professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Onyx. He is best known for his appearances in NWA Total Nonstop Action from 2003 to 2004. Larry McNeely (born January 3, 1948 in Lafayette, Indiana), is an American five-string banjo player known for his collaboration with Glen Campbell and for recording several soundtracks for different motion pictures. Career McNeely began playing banjo in 1961. In the following years, he absorbed both Don Reno's style and the Keith style.
