McNary High School
McNary High School is a public high school located in Keizer, Oregon, United States. It is named for Charles L. McNary, a U.S. Senator who was from the Keizer area. Academics Although McNary High School is one of eight high schools in the Salem-Keizer School District, it remains the only high school in Keizer. Statewide standardized testing in Oregon has exposed a need for improvement in McNary's Mathematics department. With the first year of implementation of "Group Math" in 2005, McNary ranked in the 26th percentile in the state. As of 2021, the school is in the 36th percentile for Mathematics. McNary's English department continues to show improvement: it is in the 53rd percentile in reading, and 64th percentile in writing (2006). Both the Math and English departments have made efforts in implementing support classes and labs to assist struggling students in meeting academic benchmarks. Austin M. Bibens-Dirkx (born April 29, 1985) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers from 2017 to 2018 also for the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in 2019. Minority Group
The term 'minority group' has different usages depending on the context. According to its common usage, a minority group can simply be understood in terms of demographic sizes within a population: i.e. a group in society with the least number of individuals is therefore the 'minority'. However, in terms of sociology, economics, and politics; a demographic which takes up the smallest fraction of the population is not necessarily the 'minority'. Howard Harris (wrestler)
Howard Harris (born February 9, 1958) is a former All-American wrestler at Oregon State University who won the 1980 NCAA wrestling heavyweight championship and was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. High school Harris attended McNary High School in Keizer, OR, winning the state team championship as a junior in 1975. He was undefeated that year until the state tournament finals when he had to forfeit due to an injury. In 1976, his senior year, McNary placed second in state but Harris won an individual state championship while being undefeated at 191 lbs. He completed his high school wrestling career with a mark of 80-5. In addition to his wrestling talents he was an Oregon All-State football player, racking up a total of 1448 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns while leading McNary to its first state tournament berth. Milwaukie High School is a public high school located in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. It is one of seven high schools within the North Clackamas School District. Roseburg High School is a public high school in Roseburg, Oregon, United States. Campus The campus is roughly and contains seven main buildings as well as a track and an artificial turf football field. Completed in 1926, the "Heritage Building," once referred to as the "Main Building", is the oldest on campus.
