Andrew McNally (1836–1904) was an American publisher and co-founder of the company Rand McNally. Early life On March 4, 1836, McNally was born in Armagh, Ireland. Career A printer by trade, he moved to Chicago in 1858 and got a job in a print shop owned by William H. Rand at a wage of $9 per week. In 1873, McNally and William H. Rand incorporated Rand, McNally & Co. With William H. Rand as President and McNally as Vice President. Rand, McNally & Co. becoming one of the largest and best-known map publishers in history. In 1888, McNally purchased 2,300 acres of Southern California land known as Rancho Los Coyotes from the Abel Stearns Rancho Trust. Rancho Los Coyotes is now known as present-day cities of Cerritos, La Mirada, Stanton, and Buena Park. Mark McNally (footballer)
Mark McNally (born 10 March 1971) is a Scottish former footballer who played in defence, primarily as a centre-half although he also played occasionally at right-back. Career Celtic to England McNally began his career with Celtic youths and progressed on to the first team, making his debut against Motherwell in November 1990 in a 2–1 win. McNally went on to become a regular member of the Celtic first team for the next few seasons, making over 100 league appearances. He struggled for a place in the team during season 1994–95 under new manager Tommy Burns, but still won the Scottish Cup Final in what transpired to be his final game for the club. After a very brief period on loan at Manchester City, McNally was transferred to Southend United in December 1995 for £50,000. Sergeant William McNally VC, MM and Bar (16 December 1894 – 5 January 1976) was a British Army soldier and an English recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Shannon Maureen McNally (born March 17, 1973) is an American singer and songwriter. Biography McNally was born in Hempstead, New York, on Long Island. While studying anthropology at Franklin and Marshall College, she began singing and playing guitar in small clubs. Shane McNally (born 19 May 1954) is an Australian former rugby league footballer and current Queensland Cup coach. He was sacked by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in June 2005. Playing career McNally started his playing career at Northern Suburbs before a move to Western Suburbs in 1975 where he made his first 'A' Grade appearance and captained the Premiership-winning Reserve Grade team under coach Don Oxenham in 1976. He was the founder and chief executive of Allsport Management, a Swiss company which controlled Formula One circuit advertising, corporate hospitality, and the Paddock Club. Beginning his career as a motorsports journalist for ''Autosport'' magazine, after racing for two seasons in 1968-1969, McNally became a sponsorship consultant for Marlboro. Arthur Ignatius McNally (July 1, 1925 – January 1, 2023) was an American football executive who was director of officiating for the National Football League (NFL) from 1968 to 1991. Before becoming director of officiating—succeeding Mark Duncan, who had held the position from 1964 to 1968—McNally served as a field judge and referee in the NFL for nine years from 1959 to 1967. During a 22-year span, he officiated over 3,000 football, baseball, and basketball games, which included one year in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
