McLain High School
McLain Magnet High School for Science and Technology is a high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was named after 20th Century US Army Lieutenant General Raymond S. McLain. McLain Magnet High School is one of eleven high schools in Tulsa Public Schools. History McLain High School was opened at its current location on North Peoria Avenue in 1959, making it (then and now) the northernmost high school in the Tulsa Public Schools district. Its namesake was the recently deceased Raymond S. McLain, an Oklahoma City "entrepreneur, civic leader, and soldier" whose career with the Oklahoma National Guard and the US Army spanned almost four decades. Joshua Jacobs (born February 11, 1998) is an American football running back for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). The Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team represents the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The team participates in the American Athletic Conference. The Golden Hurricane are led by head coach Eric Konkol, hired from Louisiana Tech on March 21, 2022 to replace Frank Haith who had resigned. Michael Craig Turpen (born November 10, 1949) is an American lawyer and politician from Oklahoma. A member of the Democratic Party, Turpen served as the Chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party and as the Attorney General of Oklahoma from 1983 to 1987.
