Come Home Year is a Canadian civic event for many towns that encourages a return to home town. Due to significant economic migration away from many of the small rural towns these events draw many generations to celebrate. In 2000, there was a provincial "Come Home Year" in Newfoundland and Labrador where many people came back to visit their various communities. 2022 was also a "Come Home Year". The Bay of Islands is an extensive inlet located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland, in Canada. It is a sub-basin of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, consisting of many inlets such as Humber Arm and Goose Arm. History The first telephone system was installed in Newfoundland in 1885, but domestic long-distance calls within the Dominion of Newfoundland could be placed on a limited basis only in 1921. Chase the Ace is a form of lottery that has gained popularity since 2013 in parts of Canada. The game is used to raise funds for charities. It is also known as ''Crown the King'' and '' Jig the Joker''. It is unrelated to the card game Chase The Ace of the same name. The jackpot accumulates from week-to-week until it is won, and the game is then over. Each week participants buy lottery tickets. The funds from ticket sales are divided into three parts. Typically the organizers keep 50%, the winner of the weekly lottery takes 20%, and the remaining 30% goes into the jackpot.
