McCowan Yard
McCowan Yard is a rail yard on the Toronto Transit Commission's (TTC's) Line 3 Scarborough of the Toronto subway system. The yard is situated on a site located east of McCowan Station, the eastern terminal of the line. The yard's street entrance is at 1720 Ellesmere Road, Scarborough, Toronto. Facilities McCowan Yard provides facilities for the storage, cleaning, and maintenance of the 28 Intermediate Capacity Transit System (ICTS) vehicles used on Line 3 Scarborough. The yard employs a staff of 40. The yard has a carhouse made of prefabricated metal designed by the TTC's Engineering and Construction Department. The carhouse contains one wash track and 2 repair/maintenance tracks. Outside, there are four storage tracks for passenger vehicles and a turning loop of radius used to store work vehicles. S Series (Toronto Subway)
The S series is the rolling stock of light metro used on Line 3 Scarborough, part of the subway system of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They were built from 1983 to 1986 for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) by the Urban Transportation Development Corporation (UTDC) in Millhaven, Ontario. The trains use UTDC's proprietary linear motor-based Intermediate Capacity Transit System (ICTS, now branded as Bombardier Innovia Metro) and are its Mark I model, which is also used by the Vancouver SkyTrain and the Detroit People Mover. McCowan (TTC)
McCowan is a terminal station on Line 3 Scarborough of the Toronto subway. It is located at 1275 McCowan Road, just north of Ellesmere Road at Bushby Drive/Town Centre Court. Both of the surface routes that pass the McCowan station also stop at Scarborough Centre station, located almost directly across McCowan Road, effectively leaving McCowan as a dead-end in the system. The station is on three levels: Line 3 is on the upper floor, the automatic entrance from the Consilium Place office complex via the Pedway pedestrian walkway is on the second floor, and the station entrance from McCowan Road with the collector, and the concourse are on the lower floor. Innovia Metro is an automated rapid transit system manufactured by Alstom. Innovia Metro systems run on conventional metal rails and pull power from a third rail, but are powered by a linear induction motor that provides traction by pulling on a "fourth rail" (a flat aluminum slab) placed between the running rails. The Greenwood Yard (also known as the Greenwood Complex) is a rail yard with support buildings that service subway vehicles on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway. Greenwood is one of two subway yards on Line 2, the other being the much smaller Keele Subway Yard. Line 2 Bloor–Danforth is a subway line in the Toronto subway system, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). It has 31 stations and is in length.
