McCormack Ministry
The McCormack Ministry was a The Ministry, ministry of the Government of Queensland and was led by Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), Labor Premier of Queensland, Premier William McCormack. It succeeded the Gillies Ministry on 22 October 1925. The ministry was followed by the Moore Ministry (Queensland), Moore Ministry on 21 May 1929 after the government were defeated by the Country and Progressive National Party at the 1929 Queensland state election, 1929 state election ten days earlier. On 22 October 1925, the Lieutenant-Governor designated 10 principal executive offices of the Government, and appointed the following Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland to the Ministry as follows: : Gledson was a minister without portfolio until 6 September 1926. The position of Secretary of Labour and Industry remained unfilled until Gledson's accession to it. References

The Ministry

David Gledson
David Alexander Gledson (1877 – 14 May 1949) was an accountant and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Gledson was born at Saintfield, County Down, Ireland, to William Gledson, a miner, and his wife Mary (née Magill). His family arrived in Queensland in 1885 and he was educated at Bundamba State School and the Ipswich Technical College. Later in life he attended night classes to qualify as an accountant. He went to work at the Bundamba coal mines, he was inspired by the union ideals of Gilbert Casey. Dismissed and blacklisted he next worked at the Tivoli pits. After a strike in 1905, he helped to found the Queensland Colliery Employees' Union. In 1908 he was employed full-time by the union as its secretary. His time as secretary saw a period of expansion and consolidation and in 1910 he became a district check-inspector on a programme to improve conditions in Queensland mines. Thomas Dunstan (Australian Politician)
Thomas Dunstan (20 April 1873 – 19 June 1954) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early life Dunstan was born at Thames, New Zealand, the son of Nicholas John Dunstan and his wife Esther Mary Ann (née Connon). His brothers were George and William Dunstan. He was educated at Thames State School and the One Mile State School in Gympie. On leaving School he was an apprentice with ''The Gympie Times'' newspaper before joining the ''Gympie Truth'' as a reporter, secretary, and canvasser. In 1901, he was promoted to editor-manager of the Truth and held this position for the next 41 years and in 1943 was the editor of the ''Labor Leader''. Thomas Wilson (5 May 1865 – 19 May 1933) was an Australian miner and a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. He was also Mayor of Brisbane in 1909 and 1925. Biography Wilson was born in Riddells Creek, Victoria, to parents James Wilson and his wife Mary (née McLean). He was educated in Riddells Creek. As a young man, he left home to work in the primary industries and later as a shearer in the Riverina district.
