Andrew McBurney
Andrew Graham McBurney (November 13, 1817 – April 23, 1894) was an American Republican politician who served as the eighth lieutenant governor of Ohio from 1866 to 1868. Biography McBurney was born in 1815 near Montgomery, Ohio, and was the eldest son of James and Magdalen Falen McBurney. The family soon moved to Lebanon, Ohio, where McBurney finished his apprenticeship as a cabinet-maker in 1836. Smith 1898 : 212 He read law in 1840, and was admitted to the bar 1843. He became a law partner to Thomas Corwin. Career McBurney was a Democrat until the start of the Civil War, when he became a Republican. Charles McBurney (archaeologist)
Charles Brian Montagu McBurney (18 June 1914 – 14 December 1979) was an American archaeologist who spent most of his working life in England. Life and career McBurney was born in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the son of Dorothy Lillian (Rundall) and Henry McBurney, and the grandson of Charles McBurney, the American surgeon (known to subsequent generations of surgeons for defining McBurney's point). His mother was English, the daughter and granddaughter of British Army officers; his father was an American engineer. He spent his childhood in the USA until he was eleven, then his parents took him to London, and then to Switzerland, and France. Young McBurney was home schooled. In 1933, he entered King's College, Cambridge, reading French and German, and then Archaeology and Anthropology. Charles McBurney (born June 6, 1957) is a Republican who served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 16th District, which includes parts of downtown Jacksonville in southern Duval County between 2007 and 2016. Early life and education McBurney was born in Orlando, and was raised in part by his stepfather, William V. Chappell, Jr., who served as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and as the United States Congressman from Florida's 4th congressional district from 1969 to 1989. Charles Heber McBurney, MD (17 February 1845 in Roxbury, Massachusetts – 7 November 1913 in Brookline, Massachusetts) was an American surgeon, well known for describing McBurney's point in appendicitis. Life and career Charles McBurney was born in 1845. He graduated in the arts from Harvard College in 1866, and qualified in medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City with an M.D. in 1870. He trained further in Europe for 2 years, and started practice in New York in 1873. He became assistant surgeon to the Bellevue Hospital in 1880, and surgeon-in-chief of the Roosevelt Hospital (now Mount Sinai West) in 1888. Here he did his most famous work on appendicitis, presenting his report on operative management to the New York Surgical Society in 1889. Mona Margaret McBurney (29 July 18624 December 1932) was a British pianist, teacher and composer who lived and worked in Australia. Life Mona McBurney was born in Douglas, Isle of Man, the youngest of six children of teacher and scholar Isaiah McBurney and art and music teacher Margaret McBurney.
