The Mayor of Skopje ('' mk, Градоначалник на Скопје'') is the city mayor who is representing North Macedonia, North Macedonia's capital city Greater Skopje and Greater Skopje#Administrative divisions, all of its municipalities. Also, the mayor's decisions are confirmed or rejected by the City Council of Skopje ('' mk, Совет на Град Скопје''). The coat of arms of the City of Skopje ( mk, Грб на Скопје) is an emblem in the form of a renaissance shield, depicting the Šar Mountains, the Skopje Fortress, the Vardar river and the Stone Bridge, all important landmarks of the city and North Macedonia as a whole. Vera Aceva - Dosta (November 24, 1919 in Oreovec (Prilep) – November 10, 2006 in Skopje) was a Macedonian communist, participant in the World War II in Yugoslavia and a national hero of SFRJ.
