Mayor Of Genoa
The mayor of Genoa (Italian: ''sindaco di Genova'') is an elected politician who, along with the Genoa City Council of 40 members, is accountable for the strategic government of the municipality of Genoa, Liguria, Italy. The current office holder is Marco Bucci, an independent who has been in charge since 27 June 2017. Marco Bucci (politician)
Marco Bucci (born in 1959) is an Italian politician and former pharmaceutical manager from Genoa. He is the city’s mayor and its first right-wing mayor since 1975. He is popularly know as the "manager-mayor", due to the significant pragmatism which allowed him to gain the confidence of the Genoese people Early life Bucci graduated with degrees in chemistry and pharmacy from the University of Genoa in 1985 and worked in the chemical sector from the 1980s until the end of 1990s. From 1999 to 2016 he worked for Kodak and Carestream Health. In his career as a pharmaceutical manager, he worked at Ferrania (Savona), Genoa, Geneva and Rochester. Podestà
Podestà (, English: Potestate, Podesta) was the name given to the holder of the highest civil office in the government of the cities of Central and Northern Italy during the Late Middle Ages. Sometimes, it meant the chief magistrate of a city state, the counterpart to similar positions in other cities that went by other names, e.g. ''rettori'' ("rectors"). In the following centuries up to 1918, the term was used to designate the head of the municipal administration, particularly in the Italian-speaking territories of the Austrian Empire. The title was taken up again during the Fascist regime with the same meaning. The Left group ( it, Sinistra), later called Historical Left ( it, Sinistra storica) by historians to distinguish it from the left-wing groups of the 20th century, was a liberal and reformist parliamentary group in Italy during the second half of the 19th century.
