Daniel Rickenmann (born 1969/1970) is an American businessman and politician, serving as the Mayor of Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he is the son of immigrants from Switzerland. He attended the University of South Carolina in 1987. Political career In 2004, he was elected as an at-large representative for the city council of Columbia, South Carolina. He held the position until 2013 when he chose not to run for reelection. He ran again for city council in 2017, winning the election as a representative from Columbia's fourth district. On November 16, 2021, Rickenmann won a runoff election against Tameika Devine, a councilwoman for the city of Columbia. Rickenman won 52% of the vote to Devine's 48%. Abraham Nott (February 5, 1768June 19, 1830) was a United States representative from South Carolina and a slaveholder. Born in Saybrook in the Connecticut Colony, he was educated in early life by a private teacher. He graduated from Yale College in 1787 and in 1788 moved to McIntosh County, Georgia, where he became a private tutor for one year. He moved to Camden, South Carolina, in 1789. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1791, beginning to practice in Union, South Carolina. He was a member of South Carolina House of Representatives from 1796 to 1797, and was elected as a Federalist to the Sixth United States Congress, serving from March 4, 1799, to March 3, 1801. Fitz William McMaster (March 23, 1826 – September 10, 1899) was an American lawyer and politician. Early life and career McMaster was born in Fairfield, South Carolina, and was educated at South Carolina College (now the University of South Carolina). He earned the rank of colonel in the army of the Confederate States of America. Following the conclusion of the Civil War and during Reconstruction, McMaster worked as a lawyer. Robert D. "Bob" Coble (born April 27, 1953) is a former mayor of Columbia, South Carolina. Coble has been a resident of Columbia for most of his life having graduated from Dreher High School in 1971 where he was student body president. Coble and Frannie Heizer won the 1971 South Carolina State High School Debate Championship. Coble graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1975 cum laude and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1978 cum laude.
