''Maya Mriga'' is a 1960 Indian Bengali-language film directed by Chitta Bose. This film released under the banner of MKG Private Production Limited. The film stars Uttam Kumar, Sandhya Roy and Biswajit Chatterjee. It is based on the play of the same name by Nihar Ranjan Gupta. This is one of the most iconic film of Uttam Kumar's career. He played a very unique character and his performance was huge acclaimed and regarded as one of the best performance by him. The film become blockbuster hit at the box office and ran for 126 days in theaters. Plot Sabitri and Seeta are the older and younger daughter of a rich man. Chitta Bose (1907–1993), born as Chittaranjan Bose and also known as Chitta Basu was an Indian film director. He is one of the renowned film directors of West Bengal during the 1960s. He was born on 26 November 1907 in a middle-class family in the Khulna District of present-day Bangladesh. Nirupa Roy (born Kokila Kishorechandra Bulsara; 4 January 1931 – 13 October 2004) was an Indian actress who had appeared in Hindi films. Noted for her portrayals of tragedy and sorrow, Roy was known for her acting ability, and was uncharitably called the "Queen of Misery" in Hindi film circles. Brigadier Balraj (born Balasegaram Kandiah) was a senior commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Early life Balraj was the fifth and youngest child of Kandiah and Kannagias. Geetashree Sandhya Mukherjee (also spelled Mukhopadhyay; 4 October 1931 – 15 February 2022) was an Indian playback singer and musician, specialising in Bengali music. She received Banga Bibhushan, the highest civilian honour of the Indian state of West Bengal in 2011.
