''May God Bless America'' (french: Que Dieu bénisse l'Amérique) is a Canadian drama film, directed by Robert Morin and released in 2006. A critique of suburban values and lifestyles, the film stars Gildor Roy as Maurice Ménard, a police inspector in Laval, Quebec who is investigating a spate of murders of suspected sex offenders on September 11, 2001, in a community that is largely wrapped up in its own petty dramas with virtually everybody remaining oblivious to or unconcerned about the concurrent September 11 attacks in New York City. The cast also includes Normand D'Amour, René-Daniel Dubois, Patrice Dussault, Gaston Lepage, Sylvie Léonard, Sylvain Marcel, Dominique Quesnel, Jean-Guy Bouchard and Benoît Rousseau. Robert Morin
Robert Morin (born May 20, 1949) is a Canadian film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. In 2009, he received Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts. Biography Robert Morin is known for his very personal, dark, and pessimistic "interior views" of family, crime, law enforcement, and human suffering. He studied Literature and Communications and in 1971 began to work as a cameraman, joining ORTQ in Rimouski, where he directed films and videos. In 1977, with a group of friends and colleagues, Morin founded La Coopérative de Production Vidéo de Montréal, where he continues to produce his own work. After creating close to 30 short films with his colleagues over 10 years, he directed his first feature-length film ''Tristesse modèle réduit'' in 1987. His film ''Requiem pour un beau sans-coeur'' was nominated for the Genie Awards for Best Motion Picture and Best Director. Jean-Guy Bouchard is a Canadian actor from Quebec. He is most noted for his role as Tonio in the film ''Requiem for a Handsome Bastard (Requiem pour un beau sans-coeur)'', for which he received a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 13th Genie Awards in 1992. ''Voir'' was a francophone alternative weekly newspaper in Montreal, Quebec, published by Communications Voir. ''Voir'' was founded by Pierre Paquet in November 1986. The first issue of the newspaper was published on 27 November 1986. Later on the newspaper developed various local issues with more targeted content. In 2013, the newspaper dropped from weekly to biweekly publication. On April 29, 2015, it was announced that all shares owned by Paquet were purchased by a group of buyers composed of XPND Capital, a Quebec-based private equity firm, and two members of ''Voirs management team, Michel Fortin and Hugues Mailhot. Starting 2016, it commenced publishing as a free monthly magazine.
