Grant Marsden Grant Marsden was Brooke Freeman's ( Beth Allen) fraudster father who abandoned her and her mother in the late nineties following embezzling thousands of people's money. He arrived in February 2009 to support Brooke following her arrest for murdering Ethan Pierce (Owen Black). Brooke refused to see her father but with the help of Kieran Mitchell (Adam Rickitt), successfully frauded Grant out of thousands of dollars by pretending to perform surgery on a previously undiagnosed heart problem. Sarah Thomson (born 17 June 1985) is a New Zealand actress, known for playing roles in two series of the ''Power Rangers'' franchise, and for her role in New Zealand's longest running soap opera, ''Shortland Street''. Career After high school at Glendowie College in Auckland, Thomson moved to Christchurch to film the first sections of the troubled American feature called '' Meet Me in Miami'' (then titled ''My Gardener''). Thomson was discouraged from acting by her experiences and returned to her hometown of Auckland to focus on friends and family. Nisha Madhan (born ) is a New Zealand actor, director and producer with experience in film, theatre and television. She appeared on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'' for three years. She is a regular performer in theatres in New Zealand and has appeared both nationally and internationally in theatre productions including with the Indian Ink Theatre Company.
