Nordhausen, Thuringia
Nordhausen () is a city in Thuringia, Germany. It is the capital of the Nordhausen district and the urban centre of northern Thuringia and the southern Harz region; its population is 42,000. Nordhausen is located approximately north of Erfurt, west of Halle, south of Braunschweig and east of Göttingen. Nordhausen was first mentioned in records in the year 927 and became one of the most important cities in central Germany during the later Middle Ages. UCI Junior Track World Championships
The UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships (named the UCI Juniors Track World Championships before 2016) are a set of world championship events for junior riders, for various disciplines and distances in track cycling and are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). In the period 2005–2009 the championships were part of the UCI Junior World Championships. Current events include: time trial, keirin, individual pursuit, team pursuit, points race, scratch race, sprint, team sprint, omnium and, for men only, madison. Women's events are shorter than men's. Championships are open to riders selected by their respective national cycling associations. They compete in the colours of their country. The Bałtyk–Karkonosze Tour is a cycling race in West Poland that runs between the Baltic Sea and the Karkonosze. The first edition was held in 1993 as an amateur race as the Karkonosze Tour with stages in the Wałbrzych Voivodeship and Jelenia Góra Voivodeship. In 1996, the race became professional.
