Max Lambert
Max Lambert (born 1955) is an Australian composer and musical director. Biography Born in 1955 in Sydney, he studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Lambert composed the musicals ''Darlinghurst Nights'' and ''Miracle City'', both first produced by the Sydney Theatre Company. With Iva Davies, he composed ''Berlin'' for the Sydney Dance Company in 1995. He was the musical director for the original production of ''The Boy from Oz'', for which he received the inaugural Helpmann Award The Helpmann Awards are accolades for live entertainment and performing arts in Australia, presented by industry group Live Live Performance Australia (LPA) since 2001. Sydney Theatre Company (STC) is an Australian theatre company based in Sydney, New South Wales. The company performs in The Wharf Theatre at Dawes Point in The Rocks area of Sydney, as well as the Roslyn Packer Theatre (formerly Sydney Theatre) and the Sydney Opera House Drama Theatre. Iva Davies
Ivor Arthur Davies, AM (born 22 May 1955), known professionally as Iva Davies, is an Australian singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Davies' music career spans more than 40 years. He came to prominence in the early 1980s as co-founder and lead singer of rock band Icehouse, becoming one of Australia's top rock stars of that decade. He is the only member who has been with Icehouse throughout its entire history. In addition to his work with Icehouse, Davies has made music for television series and films, most notably as the composer for the film '' Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World''. ''The Berlin Tapes'' is a soundtrack album, credited to Australian rock musician Iva Davies and Icehouse. The record was a collaboration between Davies and classical music composer Max Lambert to accompany the Sydney Dance Company's production of the ballet ''Berlin'', for which Icehouse performed live on stage. The covers are mostly acoustic, with piano, strings and subtle electronica incorporated into most tracks. The record was initially released as a single or double disc set, with the second disc consisting of instrumental Icehouse tracks performed with the ballet.
