Max Kühner
Max Kühner (born 15 January 1974 in München, Germany) is a German born Austrian show-jumping rider. He represented Austria at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina and the 2022 FEI World Championships in Herning, Denmark, where he finished 12th in team dressage and 6th in the individual competition. He also represented Austria at the five European Championships, European Show Jumping Championships and five Show Jumping World Cup, FEI World Cup Finals. He is currently the highest ranked Austrian show-jumper. He represents Austria since 2015. Kühner is selected by the Austrian Equestrian Federation to represent the Austrian team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Show Jumping World Cup
The FEI Show Jumping World Cup is an annual international competition among the world’s best show jumping horses and riders. The series, created in 1978, today comprises 14 leagues on all continents. The best riders from 132 preliminary competitions qualify for the final. The FEI World Cup was thought up by a Swiss journalist and show jumping enthusiast, Max E. Ammann. From its inception until 1999 both the final and qualifiers were sponsored by Volvo. From 1999 to 2013, the series has been sponsored by Rolex. Longines has been the title sponsor of the series from October 2013. Approximately 45 riders qualify from 13 leagues around the world. Usually there are 20 riders from Europe, 15 from the United States, 5 from Canada and 5 from elsewhere in the world. In the 28 World Cup finals held until 2007, United States riders have emerged with the most titles, having won the championship seven times.
