Max Illingworth
Max Illingworth (born 5 November 1992) is an Australian former chess player, and current chess trainer and writer. In 2022 he started playing poker professionally. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 2016, becoming the fifth Australian to achieve this. Illingworth won the Steiner Medal (for the Australian Player of the Year) in 2011, 2012 and 2015. His current FIDE rating is 2493. Tan Chin Nam
Dato' Tan Chin Nam (; 18 March 1926 – 21 October 2018) was a Malaysian entrepreneur and developer. His family is the majority shareholder of IGB Corporation Berhad. Tan was reportedly one of the richest men in Malaysia and had several companies and businesses. He is famous as a property developer and was involved in various projects such as Shangri-La Hotel in Malaysia, shopping centres in Singapore and Malaysia, including one of the largest shopping malls in the world, Mid Valley Megamall. In Australia, he is responsible for the renovation of Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and Capitol Theatre in Sydney. He also owns a number of Australian-based Thoroughbred racehorses. FIDE Trainer
FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE (''Fédération Internationale des Échecs'') for outstanding performance. The highest such title is Grandmaster (GM). Titles generally require a combination of Elo rating and norms (performance benchmarks in competitions including other titled players). Once awarded, titles are held for life except in cases of fraud or cheating. Open titles may be earned by all players, while women's titles are restricted to female players. Many strong female players hold both open and women's titles. FIDE also awards titles for arbiters, organizers and trainers. The FIDE World Cup refers to three different events over the years. Since 2000, it has been a major chess event organized by FIDE, the International Chess Federation. Since 2005, it has been a 128-player single-elimination chess tournament, forming part of the qualification for the World Chess Championship. GMA World Cup (1988–1989) In 1988–1989, the Grandmasters Association organised a series of six high-ranking World Cup tournaments in the form of a 'Grand Prix'. Murtas Kazhgaleyev ( kk, Мұртас Мұратұлы Қажығалиев, Mūrtas Mūratūly Qajyğaliev; born 17 November 1973) is a Kazakhstani chess player who received the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM) in 1998. In 2004, he tied for first with Slim Belkhodja in the 27th Syre Memorial in Issy les Moulineaux. Kazhgaleyev competed in the Chess World Cup 2005: he knocked out Evgeny Alekseev in the first round to reach round two, losing to Teimour Radjabov and thus exiting the competition. He won the men's individual rapid tournament at the 15th Asian Games in Doha. In 2007 he tied for 3rd–9th with Dmitry Svetushkin, Vladimir Malakhov, Evgeny Vorobiov, Pavel Smirnov, Vladimir Dobrov and Aleksej Aleksandrov in the 3rd Moscow Open tournament.
