Max Grodénchik
Max Grodénchik (born November 12, 1952), also known as Michael Grodénchik, is an American stage, film, and television actor, best known for his role as Rom, a recurring character on the television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. Biography Born to a Jewish family in New York City, Grodénchik worked in theater during the 1980s as Michael Grodénchik, where his performances received notice. Of his 1980 performance in John O'Keefe's ''All Night Long'', '' Sarasota Herald-Tribune'' art reviewer Marcia Corbino wrote that Grodénchik was an intriguing actor who had "an enchanting, mobile comic face on which aberrant emotions flicker, spread, retreat, retrench and explode with a single instant." Rom (Star Trek)
Rom is a recurring character on '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. He is played by Max Grodénchik. Rom is a Ferengi, the son of Keldar and Ishka. He is Quark's younger brother, and the father of Nog. On the show he is often used for comic relief, but over the show's run the character grows in importance. In the early seasons, he works at Quark's bar. Background Max Grodenchik previously played two different Ferengi characters in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes " Captain's Holiday" and "The Perfect Mate". While working on "Perfect Mate" head of the makeup department Michael Westmore told Grodénchik about a new Star Trek series and that it would include a Ferengi as a series regular, and that his agent should check for casting call coming in a few months time. "The Perfect Mate" is the 21st episode of the fifth season of the American science fiction television series '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'', the 121st overall. The episode was credited to Gary Percante and Michael Piller from a story by Percante and René Echevarria. Prophet Motive
"Prophet Motive" is the 62nd episode of the television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' and is the sixteenth episode of the third season. In the episode, Grand Nagus Zek comes to the station to present Quark with a revised copy of the Rules of Acquisition, which is now a guide for generosity and benevolence. The episode aired in broadcast syndication starting February 20, 1995. Plot Grand Nagus Zek, the "financial leader" of the Ferengi race and Quark's idol, arrives on the station and shows Quark and Rom his new project: he has rewritten the Rules of Acquisition, the sacred business proverbs by which the Ferengi live.
