Maverick (Dark Horse)
Maverick is a defunct imprint of Dark Horse Comics, created in 1999 by editor Diana Schutz for creator-owned works, to "provid a home for creator-owned properties — providing a certain identity to those creator-owned labors of love that distinguishes them from Dark Horse's licensed books." The imprint, Dark Horse's second attempt at a creator-owned imprint (after "Legend"), was relatively short-lived, publishing fewer than fifty issues/titles between 1999 and 2002. History Schutz instigated the "Maverick" line at Dark Horse Comics in July 1999 for the purpose of "provid nga kind of identity or specific line for those sorts of individual creator visions." Part of the purpose of having a separate imprint was to noticeably separate Dark Horse's output into discrete sections, and as Schutz notes: The aim of the Maverick line was to "push the medium a little bit," although Schutz recognized that such titles are often a hard sell. David North (Christoph Nord) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was originally known as Maverick, and more recently as Agent Zero. The character first appeared in ''X-Men'' #5 and was created by writer John Byrne and co-writer/artist Jim Lee. Daniel Henney portrayed Agent Zero in the 2009 superhero film '' X-Men Origins: Wolverine''. Publication history David North first appeared as Maverick in ''X-Men'' #5 (Feb. 1992). Nakia Bahadir Nakia Bahadir is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is a Turkish girl and friend of Kamala Khan. Nakia Bahadir in other media Nakia Bahadir appears in ''Ms. Marvel'', portrayed by Yasmeen Fletcher. Bakuto Bakuto is a fictional ninja in Marvel Comics. The character, created by Andy Diggle, Antony Johnston and Marco Checchetto, first appeared in ''Daredevil'' #505 (April 2010). Bakuto, the head Daimyo of South America, meets with the other four Daimyos in Jigoku-Chu Castle in Japan. He shows some doubt in Matt Murdock leading The Hand and especially scoffs at White Tiger's involvement due to her being a woman. The Mavericks (comics)
The Mavericks are an American country music band from Miami, Florida. The band consists of Raul Malo (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Deakin (drums), Eddie Perez (lead guitar), and Jerry Dale McFadden (keyboards). Malo and Deakin founded the band in 1989 along with Robert Reynolds (bass guitar) and Ben Peeler (lead guitar). After one independent album, the band was signed by MCA Nashville Records and David Lee Holt replaced Peeler on lead guitar; he would be replaced by Nick Kane shortly after their second MCA album and third overall 1994's ''What a Crying Shame''. The band recorded a total of four albums for MCA and one for Mercury Records before disbanding in 2000. They reunited for one album in 2003 on Sanctuary Records, by which point Perez had become their fourth guitarist, and former touring keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden became an official fifth member. The show ran for five seasons from September 22, 1957, to July 8, 1962 on ABC. Overview ''Maverick'' initially starred James Garner as poker player Bret Maverick.
