Mauro Galvano (born 30 March 1964 in Fiumicino, Roma) was a professional boxer and former WBC Super Middleweight Champion. Amateur career As an amateur, Galvano was the 1984 Italian Middleweight Champion and the 1985 Italian Light-Heavyweight Champion. Professional career Galvano turned pro in 1986 and won the Vacant WBC Super Middleweight Title with a decision win over Dario Walter Matteoni in 1990. He defended the belt twice before losing it to Nigel Benn Nigel Gregory Benn (born 22 January 1964) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1987 to 1996. He held world championships in two weight classes, including the WBO middleweight title in 1990 and the WBC super-middleweight ti ... via TKO in 1992. WBC Super Middleweight Champion
This is a list of WBC world champions, showing every world champion certificated by the World Boxing Council (WBC). The WBC is one of the four major governing bodies in professional boxing, and certifies world champions in 18 different weight classes. Nigel Gregory Benn (born 22 January 1964) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1987 to 1996. He held world championships in two weight classes, including the WBO middleweight title in 1990 and the WBC super-middleweight title from 1992 to 1996.
