Mauritian Party Of Xavier-Luc Duval
The Parti Mauricien Xavier-Luc Duval (PMXD) () was a Mauritian political party which was created in 1998 but was dissolved in 2009. History Xavier-Luc Duval was the founder and leader of the party. He formed the PMXD soon after his expulsion from the Parti Mauricien Social Démocrate (PMSD) in September 1997. Senior figures of the PMSD (Hervé Duval Sr, Maurice Allet, Germain Comarmond, Clifford Empeigne, Mamade Khodabaccus and Vyolet Mootia) reprimanded Xavier-Luc Duval for repeated acts of indiscipline and for his open criticism of the PMSD's new alliance with its historical rival, the MMM. Electoral performance At the legislative elections of 11 September 2000, the party was part of a coalition with the Mauritian Labour Party that won 36.6% of the vote and 8 out of 70 seats. Charles Gaëtan Xavier Luc Duval (born 28 January 1958) is a Mauritian politician who is the present Leader of the Opposition and was also Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius in the cabinet of Sir Anerood Jugnauth from December 2014 to December 2016. He was also Minister of Tourism & External Communications and serves as 1st Member of Parliament elected from Constituency No 18 Belle Rose & Quatres Bornes. The Mauritian Social Democratic Party (PMSD, ), also known as the Mauritian Conservative Party, is a political party in Mauritius. It is conservative and Francophilic. It is the fourth biggest political party in the National Assembly and forms part of Opposition. History Jules Koenig is regarded as the founder of the party which was known as Union Mauricienne from 1946 to 1956 before being re-branded to Ralliement Mauricien prior to the 1953 Legislative Council Elections. Koenig changed the party's name to ''Parti Mauricien'' after its defeat at the 1953 elections. Mauritian Militant Movement
The Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM) ( en, Mauritian Militant Movement) is a left-wing socialist political party in Mauritius. The party was formed by a group of students in the late 1960s. The MMM advocates what it sees as a "fairer" society, without discrimination on the basis of social class, race, community, caste, religion, gender or sexual orientation. In the general election of 2014, the MMM became the second largest party in the National Assembly of Mauritius with 12 Members of Parliament, and the second largest party at the municipal level, with 4 councillors.
