Maurice Fombeure
Maurice Alphonse Jacques Fombeure (born in Jardres (Vienne) 23 September 1906; died at La Verrière (Yvelines) 1 January 1981) was a 20th-century French writer and poet. The son of a winemaking family from Poitou, he trained as a teacher at the École normale in Poitiers and then at the École normale supérieure de Saint-Cloud. He became friends with other normale poets including Max Jacob and André Salmon, and taught in Parisian ''lycées'' including the Lycée Lavoisier, but remained always attached to his region of birth. Very active in the literary circles of the capital, his first published work was 'The Line of the Heart' in 1925. Marjo Tal
Marjo Tal (15 January 1915 - 27 August 2006) was a Dutch composer and pianist who wrote the music for over 150 songs and often performed them while accompanying herself on the piano. Life and career Early life Tal was born in The Hague, the oldest of three daughters in a Jewish family. She studied with Sem Dresden and Nelly Wagenaar at the Amsterdam Conservatory. In 1936, she won a 3-year government scholarship to study in London with pianist Franz Osborn, where she also accompanied the students of violinist Carl Flesch. Tal returned to the Netherlands, where she made her debut at the Diligentia Theatre (in The Hague) on 7 March 1940. During WWII, she moved from hiding place to hiding place, and was not able to practice or perform in public. While moving around, she lost several early compositions: two string trios, a quartet, a violin sonata and a cello sonata. Tal's two sisters moved to Israel after WWII. Le Temps qu'il fait is a French publishing house, first established in Cognac, and active since 1981. History Created and directed by Georges Monti, Le Temps qu'il fait is now located at Bazas, in Gironde. The house draws its name from the eponymous novel by Armand Robin. Nicolas Eekman
Nicolas Mathieu Eekman (9 August 1889 – 13 November 1973), known as Nico Eekman, Nic Eekman and Ekma, was a Flemish figurative painter. He illustrated many books, notably ''The Destinies'' by Alfred de Vigny (1933), '' Beer‐Drinker's Tales'' by Charles Deulin (1945), ''Tyl Ulenspiegel'' by Charles de Coster (1946) and ''Culotte the Donkey'' by Henri Bosco (1950). He is also notable for his drawings, watercolours and engravings. Biography Eekman was born in Brussels in the house where Victor Hugo wrote ''Les Misérables''. At 18, Eekman gave his first lecture in Brussels titled ''The unknown Van Gogh'' who in 1907 was an unacknowledged artist by the general public. Théâtre De La Gaîté-Montparnasse
The Théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse is a venue situated at 26, rue de la Gaîté, in the Montparnasse quarter of Paris, in the 14th arrondissement. It opened in 1868 and seats 399 people. In addition to functioning as a popular '' café-concert'' venue for many decades, it evolved into a legitimate theatre, offering not only commercial plays but also, by the end of the nineteenth century, occasional new experimentalist plays of the Independent Theatre movement. Jean-Pierre Grenier (20 November 1914 – 21 February 2000) was a French actor, theatre director and screenwriter. In 1946, Jean-Pierre Grenier, in association with Olivier Hussenot, established "La Compagnie Grenier-Hussenot" which was disbanded in 1957. In 1974, he became director of the théâtre de Boulogne-Billancourt until 1984. He was the companion of Janine d'Almeida, impresario and producer.
