Maura Visser (born 1 June 1985) is a Dutch handballer who plays as a playmaker for SG BBM Bietigheim. She competed at the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship The 2010 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Denmark and Norway from 7–19 December. It was the first European Championship hosted by two countries. Norway won their overall 5th gold medal, when they defeated first time finalist S ..., where the Dutch team placed eighth, and Visser was listed among the top ten goalscorers of the tournament (scoring 36 goals). She was taken off the national team after the 2011 World Championships but was selected by new head coach Helle Thomsen to make her return at the 2016 European Championships where the Dutch national team won silver. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Helle Thomsen
Helle Thomsen (born 30 November 1970) is a Danish handball coach and former player, who is the current head coach of Neptunes de Nantes. Previously she was head coach for FC Midtjylland Håndbold between 2012 and 2016, and the Swedish national team between 2014 and 2015 alongside Thomas Sivertsson. Between 2009 and 2012, she served as assistant coach to Niels Agesen in TTH Holstebro and assistant coach to Kenneth Jensen and Ryan Zinglersen in FC Midtjylland. As a player, she won silver and bronze medals in the Danish handball championship. The 2011 World Women's Handball Championship was the 20th edition of the international championship tournament in women's Team sport handball that is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The 2010 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Denmark and Norway from 7–19 December. It was the first European Championship hosted by two countries. Norway won their overall 5th gold medal, when they defeated first time finalist Sweden in the final. Romania claimed the bronze medal. Venues Three Danish and two Norwegian cities have been selected to host the 2010 Championship. The venues in Aalborg, Aarhus and Larvik were only used during the preliminary round.
