Maura Furlotti (born 12 September 1957) is an Italian footballer who played as a defender (association football), defender for the Italy women's national football team. She was part of the team at the 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup. On club level she played for Lazio in Italy. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Centre-backs are usually positioned in pairs, with one full-back on either side to their left and right, but can be played in threes with or without full-backs.
