Matúš Čonka
Matúš Čonka (born 15 October 1990) is a Slovak footballer who plays for ViOn Zlaté Moravce, in the Fortuna Liga as a left back. Club career Čonka, product of Lokomotíva Košice youth squads, made his league debut for MFK Košice against Banská Bystrica on 18 July 2009 at the age of 18. He scored his first goal in a 1–1 draw against Žilina on 17 July 2011. In January 2012, he joined Czech club Slavia Prague. He was transferred to Spartak Trnava in June 2014. He made his league debut for them on 13 July 2014 against Zlaté Moravce. International career Čonka was called up for two unofficial friendly fixtures held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in January 2017, against Uganda (1–3 loss) and Sweden, by his former coach Ján Kozák, who coached for approximately 1 year, while Čonka played for Košice. The 2018–19 Slovak Cup was the 50th edition of the competition. This tournament began on 15 July 2018. Slovan Bratislava were the defending champions having won the previous season's Cup by defeating MFK Ružomberok in the final by a score of 3–1. Format The Cup this season was a knockout tournament contested between 236 clubs. Matches which were level after regulation advanced to penalties to determine a winner. Each round of the cup was contested over one leg with the exception of the semi-finals which were contested over two legs. 2017–18 Slovak First Football League
The 2017–18 Slovak First Football League (known as the Slovak Fortuna Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 25th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia, since its establishment in 1993. MŠK Žilina were the defending champions, after winning their 7th Slovak championship. Format changes Starting from this season, the competition format was changed. The previous 33-match round robin structure was replaced by a regular stage round of 22 games and a playoff round, where 12 teams are divided into two groups: championship group (top-6 teams after regular stage) and relegation group (bottom 6 teams). The playoff round uses a 10-game round robin structure. The top team in the championship group wins the league title and qualifies to next season's Champions League qualification; the runner-up and 3rd team obtain spots of next season's Europa League Qualification. Ján Kozák (footballer, Born 1954)
Ján Kozák (born 17 April 1954) is a Slovak football manager and former player. Most recently, he managed Slovak national team. As the manager of Slovakia, his team qualified for the 2016 UEFA Euro, thus becoming Slovakia's first time to appear in the tournament. In 1981, Kozák became footballer of the year in Czechoslovakia. He played 254 matches in Czechoslovak First League and scored 57 goals. He also participated in UEFA Euro 1980 and the 1982 FIFA World Cup. His son Ján Kozák is also a former footballer, coach and one of the pioneers of footgolf in Slovakia. Personal Kozák's son, Ján Kozák, is also former national player of Slovakia and currently head coach of Slovan Bratislava; his grandson, Filip Lesniak, is also footballer and plays for Danish club Silkeborg IF.
