Mattoral
''Mattoral'' (: The Other) is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language family drama film directed by K. G. George from a story by C. V. Balakrishnan, who co-wrote the screenplay with George. It features Mammootty, Karamana Janardanan Nair, Seema and Urvashi in the lead roles. The plot focuses the life of two couples' Silent treatment and the sudden desertion of a housewife. M. B. Sreenivasan composed the film's score, while Ramachandra Babu served as the cinematographer. The film was shot in Thiruvananthapuram. Plot Kaimal, a rude and egotistical bureaucrat, and Susheela, a housewife, are leading an unhappy married life, with two children. Meanwhile, their family friends Balan and Veni, a newly married couple, seem to lead a different and liberal life. Karamana Janardanan Nair
Karamana Janardanan Nair (25 July 1936 – 24 April 2000) was a Malayalam film actor, who was active during the 1980s and 1990s. He was especially known for his character roles. He won wide acclaim especially for the role of the protagonist in Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Elippathayam (1981). He notably played the villain role along with Thilakan in ''Pattanapravesham''(1988). He played the lead role in the K. G. George directed film ''Mattoral'', supported by Mammootty, which was released in 1988. His last role was as Fr. Paulose in the movie FIR (1999) and died a year later. Personal life He was born to Karamana Kunjuveettil Ramaswami Iyyer and Bhargaviyamma on 27 July 1936. He had his primary education from Govt Model Boys High School, Chalai. After doing B.A., he pursued L.L.B. from Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. Seema (actress)
Shanthakumari Nambiar (born 22 May 1951), known by her stage name Seema, is an Indian actress. She has acted in 260 films in Malayalam, 25 in Tamil, 7 in Telugu, 6 in Kannada and one in Hindi. Veteran actor Vijayan gave her the screen name Seema.Bringing a remarkable change in the style of acting from traditional Malayalam movies at that time, she was considered as the top and most popular actress of her time. Career Seema began her career in Tamil film at the age of 18 as a dancer. She debuted as an actress in director Lisa Baby's ''Nizhale Nee Sakshi'', but this film was shelved. K. Ramachandra Babu (15 December 1947 – 21 December 2019) was an Indian cinematographer of over 125 films, out of which most are Malayalam films. He also worked for films in Tamil language, Tamil, Telugu language, Telugu, Hindi, Arabic and English language, English languages. He served as the cinematographer for several documentaries and advertisement films as well. He was the founder of the Indian cinematographers, Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC). Muraleedharan Pillai, popularly known as Murali ( ml, മുരളി, 25 May 1954 – 6 August 2009) was an Indian film, stage and television actor and author. He mainly appeared in Malayalam films and a few Tamil films and also many other movies.
