Matthias Scherz
Matthias Scherz (born 14 December 1971) is a German former professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Scherz was born in Rotenburg an der Wümme, Lower Saxony. He played for the amateur club Rot-Weiß Scheeßel until 1994. Then, at the age of 22, he joined FC St. Pauli. In his first two years in Hamburg, he was member of their amateur team. During the 1996–97 season he reached his goal to play in a first squad in the Bundesliga. After the club was relegated to the 2. Bundesliga, he appeared in the starting eleven most of the time. In 1999, he went to the second league club 1. FC Köln where he also had a place in the first team. In the 2002–03 season, he scored 18 times - three times more than usual in his previous seasons and helped his club to gain promotion to the first league. Rotenburg An Der Wümme
Rotenburg an der Wümme (also known as ''Rotenburg (Wümme)''; ''Rotenburg in Hannover'' until May 1969; Northern Low Saxon: ''Rodenborg'') is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the capital of the district of Rotenburg. Geography Rotenburg is situated on the Wümme river, which lies between the rivers Elbe and Weser at about the same latitude as Hamburg and Bremen, the latter lying 40 km to the west. It is often called "Rotenburg (Wümme)" in order to distinguish it from Rotenburg an der Fulda in Hesse and Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Bavaria. History The town was founded in 1195, when Prince-Bishop Rudolf I of Verden built a castle in the area. The town then belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Verden which was established in 1180. Lukas Josef Podolski (; born Łukasz Józef Podolski, , on 4 June 1985) is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ekstraklasa club Górnik Zabrze. Known for his powerful and accurate left foot, he is known for his explosive shot, technique and probing attacks from the left side. Podolski joined 1. FC Köln in 1995 where he made it into the first team in 2003 resulting in 81 appearances for the club before moving to Bayern Munich. The Regionalliga West is a German semi-professional football division administered by the Western German Football Association based in Duisburg. It is one of the five German regional football associations. Fortuna ( la, Fortūna, equivalent to the Greek goddess Tyche) is the goddess of fortune and the personification of luck in Roman religion who, largely thanks to the Late Antique author Boethius, remained popular through the Middle Ages until at least the Renaissance.
