Matthew Reid (politician)
Matthew Reid (30 September 1856 – 28 August 1947) was a Scottish-born Australian politician. Born in Ayrshire, he worked in London as a carpenter before migrating to Australia in 1887. He was active in the Carpenters' Union and was an organiser of the Australian Labour Federation from 1890. In 1893, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Labor member for Toowong. Defeated in 1896, he was elected as the member for Enoggera in 1899, serving until 1902. He served as President of the Queensland Labor Party in 1905, but left the party in 1909 to join the new Liberal Party. In 1917, he was elected to the Australian Senate as a Nationalist Senator for Queensland. He remained a Senator until his retirement in 1934, by which time he was a member of the United Australia Party, successor to the Nationalist Party. Reid died in 1947, aged 90. Matt Reid (tennis)
Matt Reid (born 17 July 1990) is an Australian professional tennis player. His highest ATP singles ranking is world No. 183, which he reached on 3 February 2014. His career high in doubles was at world No. 60 set on 11 September 2017. Tennis career As a junior, he was runner-up in the Wimbledon Boys Doubles in 2008 partnering Bernard Tomic. He reached the second round of the Australian Open Men's Doubles in 2013 partnering Samuel Groth. In 2013, Matt Reid made his Grand Slam main draw debut at Wimbledon after booking his spot through qualifying. He lost in round one in straight sets. In February 2014, Reid won the Burnie Challenger, which increased his ranking to a career high of 183. Matt Reid (baseball)
Matt Reid (born June 19, 1978) is an American college baseball coach and former player. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles baseball team. He has also served as the head coach of the Army Black Knights baseball program. He was named to that position on an interim basis prior to the 2014 season; Army made him its full-time head coach following the season. Reid is the son of American football coach Jim Reid. Reid played college baseball at Richmond, where he lettered all four years, batted .113, and served as team captain in his senior season. He began his coaching career at VMI, then worked with infielders at Louisburg. He then as an assistant coach at VCU, where he completed a master's degree in Sport Leadership. Reid then spent a season with Old Dominion before two seasons at UNC Asheville. Reid joined Army's staff in 2008, and added associate head coach duties in 2011. North Wales Crusaders
The North Wales Crusaders ( cy, Croesgadwyr Gogledd Cymru Rygbi'r Gynghrair) is a professional rugby league club based in Colwyn Bay, Wales. They are the successors to the former Super League club Crusaders Rugby League. Crusaders compete in Betfred League 1, the third tier of European rugby league (behind the Super League and Betfred Championship). Until the end of 2016 they played their home games at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham.
