Matthew Prior
Matthew Prior (21 July 1664 – 18 September 1721) was an English poet and diplomat. He is also known as a contributor to ''The Examiner (1710–1714), The Examiner''. Early life Prior was probably born in Middlesex. He was the son of a Nonconformist (Protestantism), Nonconformist joiner at Wimborne Minster, East Dorset. His father moved to London, and sent him to Westminster School, under Richard Busby, Dr Richard Busby. On his father's death, he left school, and was cared for by his uncle, a vintner in Channel Row. Here, Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset, Lord Dorset found him reading Horace, and set him to translate an ode. He did so well that the Earl offered to contribute to the continuation of his education at Westminster. One of his schoolfellows and friends was Charles Montagu, 1st Earl of Halifax. Matt Prior
Matthew James Prior (born 26 February 1982) is a South African-born English former cricketer, who played for England in Test cricket and for Sussex County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper and his aggressive right-handed batting enabled him to open the innings in ODI matches, even when he made very limited appearance in shorter forms of the game. With an international Test debut score of 126, Prior became the first English wicket-keeper to hit a century in his debut match in early 2007. His glovework, however, was criticised. Despite a successful tour of Sri Lanka with the bat, Prior's keeping was less successful, and he was dropped from the team for the 2008 tour of New Zealand. He returned for the 2008 series against South Africa, and was retained into 2009, where he became the second-fastest England keeper to reach 1,000 Test runs, behind Les Ames. He retired in June 2015 from all forms of professional cricket due to a recurring Achilles tendon injury. ...

Matthew Prior (born 27 May 1987) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as and for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League. He was a member of the St. George Illawarra Dragons' 2010 and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks' 2016 NRL Premership winning teams. Prior has played for Country Origin and New South Wales. He played as a forward and earlier in his career. Background Prior was born in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. Playing career St George llawarra Prior started at St. George Illawarra in 2006, making his first grade debut in round 5 of the 2008 season. In 2010 he was a member of St. George Illawarra's premiership winning side and he played in their 2010 NRL Grand Final victory.
