Matthew Mbu
Matthew Tawo Mbu (20 November 1929 – 6 February 2012) was a Nigerian lawyer, politician, diplomat, and a permanent fixture in Nigerian political affairs for more than fifty years. Early life Mbu was born in Okundi, Cross River State. He received his early education at Okundi Primary School from 1937 to 1940. He also attended the Kakwagon Seminary School between 1941and 1943, before proceeding to Middle Temple and University College, London, from 1955 to 1959, where he received the LLB and the LLM. Ike Nwachukwu
Ike Omar Sanda Nwachukwu mni (born 1 September 1940) is a retired Army officer and Nigerian politician who served twice as Foreign Minister of Nigeria and as a Senator in the National Assembly delegation from Abia State. Education and training Born on September 1, 1941 in Port Harcourt to an Igbo father and a Fulani mother of Katsina, Nwachukwu had his early education at the Ladi-Lak Institute, Yaba, Lagos, and Lagos City College, also in Yaba, Lagos. Matthew Mbu Junior
Matthew Tawo Mbu Junior was elected senator for the Cross River Central constituency of Cross River State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. Mbu's father, also Matthew Tawo Mbu, is a lawyer, politician, diplomat, and a fixture in Nigerian political affairs for more than fifty years. After taking his seat in the Senate, Mbu Junior was appointed to committees on Security and Intelligence (chairman), Foreign Affairs, Defense, Women Affairs and Privatization. An October 2002 survey of the performance of senators noted that in the first three years of the assembly, he had presented five bills. After Mbu left the Senate, in November 2003 his house in Abuja was slated for demolition.
