A film score is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental, or choral pieces called cues, which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers under the guidance of or in collaboration with the film's director or producer and are then most often performed by an ensemble of musicians – usually including an orchestra (most likely a symphony orchestra) or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – known as playback singers – and recorded by a sound engineer. Raman Hui Shing-Ngai (Traditional Chinese: 許誠毅, born 4 July 1963) is a Hong Kong animator, film director, and film producer. He is best known for directing the films ''Monster Hunt'' and ''Monster Hunt 2''. Early life Hui was born in Hong Kong, and grew up in a single parent family, with his mother raising him and two other siblings. Liking to draw since he could remember, he went to Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he graduated in 1984 in graphic design. Career After the graduation, he worked as a cel animator at Quantum Studios in Hong Kong. In 1989, he moved to Canada to attend a three-month course at Sheridan College to improve his knowledge in computer animation.
