Matthew Kressel
Matthew Kressel is a multiple Nebula, World Fantasy Award, and Eugie Award nominated author and coder. His short stories have been published in Tor.com, io9.com, Lightspeed Magazine, Clarkesworld, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Interzone, Apex Magazine, and many other magazines and anthologies. His first novel ''King of Shards'' was released in 2015. As a coder, he created the Moksha submissions system, a manuscript submissions system in use by some of the largest speculative fiction publishers today. He is the founder of the speculative fiction magazine Sybil's Garage and the publishing house Senses Five Press. Currently he is a member of the Altered Fluid writing group and the co-host of the Fantastic Fiction at KGB reading series in Manhattan. Life Kressel grew up on Long Island in a conservative Jewish family. He currently lives in Brooklyn. Kressel worked in downtown Manhattan during the September 11 attacks. Ellen Datlow (born December 31, 1949) is an American science fiction, fantasy, and horror editor and anthologist. She is a winner of the World Fantasy Award and the Bram Stoker Award (Horror Writers Association). Career Datlow began her career working for Holt, Rinehart and Winston for three years, as well as doing a stint at Crown Publishing Group. She went on to be fiction editor at ''Omni'' magazine and ''Omni Online'' from 1981 through 1998, and edited the ten associated ''Omni'' anthologies. The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, doing business as Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, commonly known as SFWA ( or ) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization of professional science fiction and fantasy writers. Nebula Award For Best Short Story
The Nebula Award for Best Short Story is a literary award assigned each year by Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) for science fiction or fantasy short stories. A work of fiction is defined by the organization as a short story if it is less than 7,500 words; awards are also given out for longer works in the categories of novel, novella, and novelette. To be eligible for Nebula Award consideration a short story must be published in English in the United States. ''Electric Velocipede'' was a small press speculative fiction fan magazine edited by John Klima. Published from 2001 to 2013, ''Electric Velocipede'' won the Hugo Award for Best Fanzine in 2009. History In 2000 editor John Klima was inspired to create a magazine by editor Gavin Grant during a panel at Readercon. The first issue made its debut at the 2001 SFWA Writers/Editors Banquet.
