Matthew Bryan-Amaning
Matthew Osei Bryan-Amaning (born 9 May 1988) is a British-Ghanaian professional basketball player, who played for AS Douanes (basketball), AS Douanes of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He has represented the Great Britain men's national basketball team, Great Britain national team in international competition. Early life Bryan-Amaning was born in London, and tried rugby, swimming and football as a kid. He picked up basketball when he was 4 years old. Aged 16, he earned a scholarship at South Kent School in South Kent, Connecticut. There, he played alongside future NBA star Isaiah Thomas (basketball), Isaiah Thomas. The London City Royals were a British professional basketball team, based in the Crystal Palace area of London, England. The team was founded in 2018, however despite big ambitions the team ceased trading less than two years later, during the 2019–20 season. The 2010–11 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington in the 2010–11 college basketball season. This was head coach Lorenzo Romar's 9th season at Washington. The Huskies played their home games at Alaska Airlines Arena and are members of the Pacific-10 Conference. As the winner of the 2011 Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball tournament, the Huskies earn an automatic bid in the NCAA tournament, the school's 16th appearance in the NCAA tournament. Isaiah Jamar Thomas (born February 7, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He most notably played with the Boston Celtics from 2015 through 2017, when he was a two-time NBA All-Star and named second-team All-NBA. The point guard played three years of college basketball for the Washington Huskies and was a three-time all-conference selection in the Pac-10. After electing to forgo his senior year of college, Thomas was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the final pick in the 2011 NBA draft. The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. Its 2021 BAL season, inaugural season started with the qualifying rounds in October 2019 and the regular season in May 2021. The 2010–11 Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball season began with practices on October 18, 2010 and ended with the 2011 Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball tournament from March 9–11, 2011 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The regular season began on the weekend of November 12, with the conference schedule starting on December 30. The conference dedicated the season to legendary UCLA coach John Wooden, who died in June 2010 at age 99. The Washington Huskies defeated the regular season champions Arizona Wildcats 77–75 in overtime to capture the tournament championship. The All-Pac-12 men's basketball team is an annual Pac-12 Conference honor bestowed on the best players in the conference following every college basketball season. Pac-12 coaches select a 10-player first team and a five-player second team. There were two five-man teams from 1956 though 1979, followed by one 10-man first team from 1980 through 2008. For one year in 2008, there were three five-man teams selected. During the final week of the regular season, Pac-12 coaches nominate up to three players from their team to be placed on the ballot for consideration. Association Sportive des Douanes, commonly known as AS Douanes, is a Senegalese basketball club from Dakar. Part of the Senegalese customs organisation, the team plays in the national top division Nationale 1 and is among the country's most decorated teams, having won 10 national titles. AS Douanes played and will play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in the 2021 and 2023 seasons.
