Matthew Bolton
Matthew Bolton (born 7 July 1979 in Perth, WA) is an Australian billiards player. He is one of the most successful English billiards players of his country. Internationally, he is also successful as a snooker player where he became professional in 2017. Career Between 2000 and 2017 Matthew Bolton was the 15-time winner of the Australian National Billiards Championship and unbeaten from 2004 on (in 2012 he could not participate). He is the most successful billiards player in his country since Bob Marshall who won 21 titles. Perth

Snooker World Rankings
The snooker world rankings are the official system of ranking professional snooker players to determine automatic qualification and seeding for tournaments on the World Snooker Tour. The ranking lists are maintained by the sport's governing body, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. Each player's world ranking is based on their performances in designated ranking tournaments over the preceding two years. The world ranking list is updated after every ranking tournament. The system of world rankings was inaugurated in the 1976–77 season. Until the 2013–14 season, the point tariffs for each tournament were set by the governing body, but the rankings transitioned to a prize money list in the 2014–15 season. 2017 UK Championship
The 2017 UK Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 28 November to 10 December 2017 at the Barbican Centre in York, England. The event was the 41st edition of the UK Championship, first held in 1977, organised by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. It was the eleventh ranking and first Triple Crown event of the 2017/2018 season. The event saw 128 players compete, with no qualification round. The prize fund was a total of £850,000, with £170,000 received by the winner. Ronnie O'Sullivan equalled Steve Davis's record of six UK titles by defeating Shaun Murphy 10–5 in the final. The UK Championship is a professional ranking snooker tournament. It is one of snooker's prestigious Triple Crown events, along with the World Championship and the Masters. It is usually held at the Barbican Centre, York. Ronnie O'Sullivan has won the tournament a record seven times, followed by Steve Davis with six titles and Stephen Hendry with five. The 2017 Northern Ireland Open (officially the 2017 Dafabet Northern Ireland Open) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 20 and 26 November 2017 in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was the tenth Snooker world rankings, ranking event of the Snooker season 2017/2018, 2017/2018 season and a part of the Home Nations Series. It was the second edition of the Northern Ireland Open (snooker), Northern Ireland Open. Mark King (snooker player), Mark King was the defending champion, but he was beaten 1–4 in the third round by Yan Bingtao. The players compete for the Alex Higgins Trophy, named for the late two-time world champion who was born and raised in Belfast. International Championship
The International Championship is a professional ranking snooker tournament. The reigning champion is Judd Trump. History The event was introduced in the 2012/2013 season. It was named as the "first overseas 'major'", because the tournament had the same level of ranking points as the UK Championship. The 2017 Dafabet English Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 16 to 22 October 2017 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. It was the seventh ranking event of the 2017/2018 season and a part of the Home Nations Series. Liang Wenbo was the defending champion, having beaten Judd Trump 9–6 in the 2016 final. Wenbo made a maximum break in his second round match against Tom Ford, but lost in the third round to Yan Bingtao. His maximum won him the "rolling 147 prize" of £40,000. The European Masters is a professional ranking snooker tournament that has been staged periodically since 1989 as the European Open. Between 2005 and 2008 it was known as the Malta Cup and was the sole ranking tournament in Europe outside the British Isles, before being discontinued. In 2016, the event was resurrected and rebranded the European Masters. History Before the 1988/89 season, there were no ranking events outside the United Kingdom.
