Matthew Bartlett
Matthew Bartlett (born 3 November 1983) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. He previously played for the Melbourne Storm and North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League. He primarily played and lock. Playing career Born in Wingham, New South Wales, Bartlett played his junior football for the Wingham Tigers before being signed by the Newcastle Knights in 2002. He played for the Knights junior grades from 2002 to 2005 before signing a 1-year contract with the Melbourne Storm starting in 2006. He played for the Storm's Queensland Cup reserve-grade team, the Norths Devils in 2006 and 2007 while also spending some time with the NSW Cup's North Sydney Bears in 2006. In Round 14 of the 2006 NRL season he made his NRL debut for the Storm against the Parramatta Eels. At the beginning of 2007, Bartlett re-signed with the Storm for 2 years. Wingham, New South Wales
Wingham is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia in the Mid-Coast Council area north of Sydney. According to the , Wingham had a population of 5,313. History The first land grant in the area was made at The Bight to George Rowley in 1841. Wingham was chosen as a location for a government settlement because supply boats could not proceed any further up the Manning River and was also located on the road from Raymond Terrace to Port Macquarie. Named after Wingham in Kent, England, Wingham was proclaimed a village in 1844 but allotments were not made until 1854, the same year that Henry Flett laid out Taree as a private settlement. Parramatta Eels
The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). As of 2019, Parramatta's home ground stadium has been rebuilt and they now play as the co-tenants at Western Sydney Stadium, which sits on the same site that was once Parramatta Stadium. It took thirty years for the club to make the grand final, which they did in 1976 and 1977, losing on both occasions. However, this period foreshadowed their most successful period in the early 1980s, when they won four premierships and qualified for five grand finals in six seasons. The Newcastle Rugby League is a local rugby league football competition in Newcastle, Australia. It is one of the oldest rugby league competitions in Australia, founded in 1910. Lakes United is a rugby league club based in the Newcastle, New South Wales region of Australia. Known as ''The Seagulls'' and wearing Royal blue and Gold, they have been a member of the Newcastle Rugby League since 1947. History Lakes United were successful in their first year in the Newcastle competition winning the competition in 1947. It had players selected to represent Newcastle and the Country Rugby League.
