Mattaes Phillipou (born 27 December 2004) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by St Kilda with their first pick in the 2022 AFL draft, pick 10 overall. Early football career Phillipou is the son of former AFL player Sam Phillipou, who played three games for the in 1995. Phillipou generated plentiful excitement in his draft year, averaging 28 disposals and 1.5 goals in the SANFL under 18s competition. Docklands Stadium, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Marvel Stadium, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment stadium in the Docklands area of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Elijah Tsatas
Elijah Tsatas (born 18 October 2004) is an Australian footballer who plays for Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected as the fifth pick in the 2022 AFL Draft. Essendon rejected several lucrative offers in favour of selecting Tsatas. Tsatas is friends with fellow 2022 draftee George Wardlaw, with whom he has played football since he was a child. Prior to selection, Tsatas suffered a serious foot injury that prevented him from playing for three months. He eventually recovered in time to score well in games before being interviewed for the draft. Tsatas is a midfielder-wingman who is described as a player who "can run and carry, has a knack of finding space at stoppages, and has excellent disposal".
