Matt Vanderbeek
Matthew James Vanderbeek (born August 16, 1967) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. He played college football at Michigan State University. Early years Vanderbeek attended West Ottawa High School, where he practiced football and track. As a senior linebacker, he posted 104 tackles (13 for loss) and 7 sacks, while receiving All-state honors. He accepted a football scholarship to play for Michigan State University. As a junior, he was switched from outside linebacker to defensive end and became a starter. As a senior, he posted 60 tackles (11 for loss), 2 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten. He finished his college career with 119 career tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 5 quarterback sacks. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. 1994 NFL Season
The 1994 NFL season was the 75th regular season of the National Football League. To honor the NFL's 75th season, a special anniversary logo was designed and each player wore a patch on their jerseys with this logo throughout the season. Also, a selection committee of media and league personnel named a special NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, honoring the best NFL players from the first 75 seasons. The Phoenix Cardinals changed their name to Arizona Cardinals in an attempt to widen their appeal to the entire state of Arizona instead of just the Phoenix area. 1992 NFL Season
The 1992 NFL season was the 73rd regular season of the National Football League. Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Andrew, the New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins game that was scheduled for September 6 at Joe Robbie Stadium was rescheduled to October 18. Both teams originally had that weekend off. This marked the first time since the 1966 NFL season and the AFL seasons of 1966 and 1967 that there were byes in week 1; in those years, byes were necessary every week since there were an odd number of teams, which would happen again between 1999 and 2001. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dolphins also had their 2017 season opener postponed due to Hurricane Irma. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). Frederick Kimball Young (born November 14, 1961) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Seattle Seahawks and the Indianapolis Colts.
