Matt Tennant
Matthew H. Tennant (born March 19, 1987) is a former American football center for the National Football League (NFL). He attended Boston College. Tennant was considered one of the best centers available for the 2010 NFL Draft. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 5th round with the 158th overall selection, and played with the Saints for two years. High school career Tennant attended Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was a three-year starter on the offensive line and senior team captain. He gained Associated Press All-State second-team honors and was named a 2004 All-American by ''SuperPrep''. Considered a three-star recruit by ''Rivals.com'', Tennant was listed as the No. 55 offensive guard prospect in the nation in 2005. Center (American Football)
Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. According to Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, "you need to have somebody who can neutralize that nose tackle. If you don't, everything can get screwed up. Redshirt (college Sports)
Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Using this mechanism, a student athlete has at most five academic years to use the four years of eligibility, thus becoming what is termed a fifth-year senior. Jason Daniel Kelce (; born November 5, 1987) is an American football center for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at Cincinnati. Steve Vallos (born December 28, 1983) is a former American football center in the National Football League (NFL). He was most recently on the roster for the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was an All-American at Wake Forest. Vallos has also played for the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Denver Broncos. Nicholas James McDonald (born June 27, 1987) is a former American football center. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2010. In that year, he won Super Bowl XLV with the team against the Pittsburgh Steelers. McDonald played college football at Grand Valley State University. Lex Douglas Hilliard (born July 30, 1984) is a former American football running back and fullback. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Montana. Hilliard was one of the largest victims of professional scam artist/fraudster Peggy Ann Fulford. Early years Hilliard attended and played high school football at Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana. During his sophomore year, he set a school record with 1,384 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
