Matt Robson
Matthew Peter Robson (born 5 January 1950) is a New Zealand politician. He was deputy leader of the Progressive Party, and served in the Parliament from 1996 to 2005, first as a member of the Alliance, then as a Progressive. Early years Robson was born in Brisbane, Australia. He attained an MA (Hons) in Political Studies and later studied law, and worked both as a lawyer and a teacher. He also spent three years in the Netherlands as a technical editor. Robson was originally a member of the Labour Party, holding several positions within the party organisation. In 1981 he became chairman of Labour's electorate committee and was campaign manager to Colin Moyle in the seat at the before resigning as chairman and from the party itself in 1989, taking almost 300 members with him. He was deeply opposed to the neo-liberal economic policies of Roger Douglas, the Labour Party's Minister of Finance, and when Jim Anderton, a Labour MP, quit the party, Robson followed him. Matt Robson (footballer, Born 1887)
Matthew Henry Robson (1887 – after 1919) was an English professional association football, footballer who made 121 appearances in the Football League playing for Lincoln City F.C., Lincoln City. He played as a wing half. Robson was born in Eighton Banks, Gateshead, which was then in County Durham. He began his football career with Washington United and Wallsend Park Villa in his native north-east of England, before joining Football League Second Division club Lincoln City. He made his debut in a goalless draw at home to Grimsby Town in September 1909, and remained with the club until the First World War interrupted competitive football. Matthew Robson (born 29 December 1954) is an English former footballer who played as a centre half in the Football League for Darlington. Robson was born in Easington, County Durham. He began his football career as an apprentice with Sunderland, but never played for their first team. In March 1975, he joined Darlington on loan. Matthew James Robson (born 23 January 1985) is a former professional footballer who played as a left winger or left back for Hartlepool United, Carlisle United and Shildon. Biography Hartlepool United Robson came through Hartlepool's youth development programme, following in the footsteps of Antony Sweeney, Jim Provett and Adam Boyd. While playing for the youth team, Robson gained the reputation of being a quick and pacey winger with a keen eye for set pieces. He won Hartlepool's Young Player of the Year Award for 2002–03. For the 2003–04 season, manager Neale Cooper promoted him to the first team in order to fill the team's "problem position" of left back. Robson scored on his debut in Hartlepool's first match of the 2003–04 Second Division campaign, in a 4–3 win against Peterborough United.
