Matt O'Connor (rugby Player)
Matt O'Connor (born 29 January 1971) is an Australian professional rugby union coach and a former international player. He was recently the head coach of the Leicester Tigers. O'Connor has held head coaching positions with the Queensland Reds (co-head coach alongside Nick Stiles during 2016); at Irish province Leinster, where he won the Pro12 in 2013–14; and in a previous stint with Leicester, where he won the Premiership in 2013. Playing career O'Connor played rugby for the ACT in the 1990s and was awarded a single cap for the Wallabies against Ireland in 1994. He signed for rugby league club the Hunter Mariners in 1996, but the club's existence was threatened by the Super League war, so he played in only several trial matches that year. Super League War
The Super League war was a commercial competition between the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and the Australian Super League to establish pre-eminence in professional rugby league competition in Australia and New Zealand in the mid-1990s. Super League, backed by Rupert Murdoch and News Corporation, competed with the ARL, supported by Kerry Packer and Optus Vision, in and out of court for broadcasting rights and supremacy in the sport. Super League had attracted several clubs disenchanted with the existing administration, and introduced two new clubs, as it attempted to establish itself as the dominant competition. After much legal action, when the ARL tried to block the new league, Super League ran one season parallel to the ARL's in 1997. At the conclusion of that season a peace deal was reached and the two leagues united to form the National Rugby League, which continues today. Leo Cullen (rugby Union)
Leo Francis Matthew Cullen (born 9 January 1978) is an Irish rugby coach and former professional rugby union player. He played at lock for Leinster Rugby and Ireland. He was appointed coach of Leinster rugby on 19 August 2015. Early life and education Cullen was educated firstly at Willow Park which is the junior school to Blackrock College where he attended secondary school. He then studied Agricultural Science at University College Dublin. He graduated in 1999 with a BA in Economics. Cullen won a Leinster Schools Senior Cup medal in 1995 as well as 1996, when Blackrock beat a Newbridge College team which included Geordan Murphy. Joe Schmidt (rugby Union)
Josef Schmidt HonFRCSI (born 12 September 1965) is a New Zealand and Irish rugby union coach, who is the attack coach for the New Zealand national team. Schmidt coached Bay of Plenty, and was an assistant coach with the Blues and Clermont Auvergne. He joined Leinster as head coach in 2010, and brought unprecedented success to the province, reaching six finals and winning four trophies in three years. He was then head coach of Ireland from 2013 to 2019. In six years under his leadership, Ireland won three Six Nations Championships, including a Grand Slam in 2018. Richard Graham (rugby)
Richard Graham (born 5 August 1972) is a rugby union coach and former Head Coach of the Australian Super Rugby franchises, the Queensland Reds and Western Force. Early life Richard Graham was born in central western Queensland (Charleville). He also lived in ( Miles), ( Mitchell), (Hughenden), (Longreach) and ( Rockhampton). He attended Marist College Ashgrove as a boarding student and was a talented schoolboy sportsman. Graham played 1st XI Cricket, captained 1st XV Rugby and captained the school athletics team. The 2014–15 Pro12 (also known as the ''Guinness Pro12'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 14th season of the professional rugby union competition originally known as the Celtic League, and the fifth with its current four-country format. It was the first season to be referred to as the ''Pro12'' to not have RaboDirect as the title sponsor, having been replaced by Guinness. Richard Cockerill
Richard Cockerill (born 16 December 1970) is an English rugby union coach and former player, he was the national team's interim head coach between Eddie Jones and Steve Borthwick. He played as a hooker, spending the majority of his career at Leicester Tigers where he played 255 games over two spells, he won 27 caps for and was included in the 1999 Rugby World Cup squad. He won five league titles, two European Cups and two domestic cups as a player. Following his retirement from playing in 2005 Cockerill became Leicester's forwards coach, becoming head coach in 2009. He led Leicester to Premiership titles in 2009 and 2010, his first two years in charge, and a third title in 2013.
